Description
Archaeological research. Tribal talisman in the hands of a researcher who is about to use a microtomograph (background) to examine it. The microtomograph is a CT (computed tomography) scanner adapted to scan objects in microscopic detail using X-rays. The talisman seen here (see M775/056) is from Madagascar, and is intended to prevent lightning strikes. A common belief of tribal religions is that natural phenomenon are caused by gods, and can be controlled by magic. Talisman obtained from the Natural History Museum of Lyon, France.
